• Alcohol is found in many beverages, also in many prescription and non-prescription drugs.
• Commercial accidents also have been reported to involve a high rate of alcohol abuse; an example of this occurred during 1991- a subway motorman that was drinking derailed a train that was carrying hundreds of passengers. As a result of this alcohol related accident, 5 people were killed and well over 200 were injured.

• Although college students commonly binge drink, 70% of binge drinking episodes involve adults age 26 years and older.
